Item Description
14.5x24" thin sheet of paper has mixed media original art for Kellogg's "Corn Flakes" premium. Image of Kellogg's "Corn Flakes" cereal box at right w/hand-lettered text reading "Free! Plastic Motorcycle Powered By Mystery Motor And Dare-Devil Rider." Text along bottom continues "One In Every Package Of Kellogg's Corn Flakes." Art shows premium motorcycle w/rider figure jumping across sign w/hand-lettered "Speed, Spills And Thrills!" promotional text. Two vertical creases and single horizontal crease at center. Archival tape repair to back of motorcycle's rear wheel and tiny puncture to "Jump Ramp" image. "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker on back. Some scattered margin wear w/pair of .75" tears along bottom right. Fine overall. 11x14.5" sheet of paper has mixed media original art for prototype cereal box back panel featuring premium offer. Art features boy watching motorcycle jump and lower left has diagram of premium, noting 3.5" length and other features including - "Removable Rider, Starter Clutch, Motor Crank, Rubber Tire, Plastic Wheels, Motorcycle High Impact Plastic." All text is hand-lettered, including "Only 25¢ And 1 Box Top From Kellogg's Corn Flakes." Design also includes order blank at bottom right. Motorcycle art was later revised and has 2.75x3.5" past-over featuring original art of more streamlined motorcycle compared to chunkier initial version. Sheet has some glue staining to original art at this area. Two horizontal folds at center but still displays VF w/paste-over in place. Also comes w/2-3/8x7.75" strip of thin cardboard w/original art for banner for  front of cereal box. Art features additional image of motorcycle jumping w/hand-lettered "Speed, Spill And Thrills!" text. Back has moderate glue staining but does not affect front's display, which remains VF. Lot also includes extensive typed info sheets to pitch/promote this premium concept, top sheet of stapled packet having typed "The Indian Company" name and handwritten "Harley-Davidson" addition. As Indian Motorcycles ceased production in 1953, this dates this promotion to the early 1950s. Pages are VF/Exc. Extensive and unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
