Item Description
7-7/8x12-7/8" thin cardboard store shelf sign for Post cereal introduced in 1951, just a year prior to Kellogg's "Frosted Flakes." Sign features cereal mascot Captain Jolly (who predates Cap'n Crunch by 12 years) and one of his pirate crew. Top portion w/crew has "24¢" grease pencil price while larger circle area on main area of sign is blank. Text block above this advertises "Free Comic Book In Every Package!" This 1950s premium consisted of four different box insert comic books. Sign has some scattered handling wear w/faint horizontal crease across center. VF overall. Rare, From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
