10x14.25 prototype "Libby's Play Grocery Store" punch-out book w/detailed mixed media original art on front cover, w/top half of cover featuring detailed image of the premium grocery store set up and bottom half featuring figures of grocer, clerk, mother, boy and girl as well as play money. Grocery display features many "Libby's" products and hand-lettered text noting "Grocer Moves Back And Forth Behind The Counter." Back cover and first page features some outlines of store counter and items w/solid colors (and some handwritten pencil labels). Rest of book is blank. Front cover is detached w/slightly uneven left margin. Pages have even moderate aging. Cover is VG while rest of book is Fine overall. Book comes w/fully realized back counter Art Deco display w/carefully hand-lettered "Libby's Play Grocery Store" name and shelves capable of holding the punch-out products as shown on front cover display. Exc. Comes w/15.5x19-7/8" vellum sheet featuring mixed media original art for full page magazine advertisement w/hand-lettered "Mothers - Get This Fascinating Libby's Play Grocery Store For Your Children" and features detailed illustration showing the premium set up. Additional hand-lettered text notes "You Can Get This Wonderful Grocery Store For Only 10¢" Additional illustrations show children playing w/premium and lower right has order blank. Horizontal fold at center w/obvious margin wear including tears and missing pieces. Good/VG, but main art image remains nice for display. Very interesting 1930s prototype for company that Gold produced premiums for (see Libby's Gasoline Alley sign lot #2202). From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
