Item Description
The Brotherhood of the Spirit (renamed Renaissance Community in 1974) was one of the largest and most enduring communes in the northeast US and as such was a distinct link between the commune phenomenon of the 1960s and the current New Age movement, existing 1968-1988. Offered here are pair of thin cardboard posters for concerts performed by the commune's band - Spirit in Flesh. Both are for March 12, 1971 concerts that took place at the University of Massachusetts Ballroom. Posters feature different art, one showing woman on hillside watching sunset, the other showing the sun and a tree. Both posters also note the band's recent signing w/Metromedia Records. Moderate scattered edge/corner tip wear w/fade to left/right margins of poster featuring image of woman. Both have some scattered moisture staining along bottom margins and tree poster has 1.25" square of surface paper missing at upper left corner. Both are VG overall.
