Item Description
12.25x40.5" frame w/custom Charlie Brown double-matte contains thin artboard matted to 5.75x28". Four-panel strip w/pen and ink original art by Charles Schulz for daily strip that was published Jan. 11, 1957. First three panels of strip feature Charlie Brown standing between Linus and Lucy, who both scream w/all their might, each panel progressively shaking Charlie Brown more and more. Charlie Brown turns around to face reader in final panel, a decidedly queasy look upon his face. Lucy's hand-lettered word balloon proclaims "I Defy Any Parent To Hold Out Against 'Stereophonic-Fussing' For More Than Five Minutes!" Schulz has signed last name at bottom of last panel, which has United Features Syndicate Inc. copyright strip. This is the original art that Schulz submitted to the syndicate for publication, w/vertical crease at center (not affecting art in any way) as mailed. As framed, art displays Exc. Great early example of "Peanuts" original art.
