Item Description
Two sheets of onionskin paper, measuring approx. 11x16" and 15x20.25", both featuring mixed media original art for 1950s premium hat issued for Halloween. Smaller sheet features fully realized art showing prototype design on the hat itself, decorated w/various Halloween images including witches, owls, Halloween cat and a ring of jack-o-lanterns around base and tipped w/crescent moon. Smaller pencil sketch at lower left corner and handwritten "Halloween" note at lower right in pencil. Sheet has several folds and uneven edges as trimmed. Fine overall. Larger sheet features preliminary prototype sign design w/hand-lettered text reading "Free With Every Purchase Of... Sealed Fresh Marshmallows - A Halloween Hat" and sign is decorated w/packages of marshmallows and two children wearing hat design seen on smaller sheet. The hat is seen again on set table image w/"Can Be Used As A Novel Halloween Table... Centerpiece" hand-lettered text. Some pencil notes along upper left margin. Sheet has been folded and shows some lt. wear along folds. Fine/VF overall. Neat concept. Unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
