Item Description
16" dia. frame w/label on reverse reading "Powell's Lincoln Medallion Patented 1865" and having address in Cincinnati, Ohio. Original ornate gilt frame has some missing sections of the original application but remains Fine. Frame houses a dramatic shadow box display featuring the high relief silvered profile portrait of a bearded Lincoln at center. Portrait has "J. Powell F. Patented 1865" in tiny text at lower right. VF. A striking display piece that can be matched w/examples for McClellan and Robert E. Lee.
