Item Description
Sizes are 1.25", 1-3/16" and 1-1/8" with first and third medals in white metal and second in silvered brass. First has primary text "McClellan & Pendleton Democratic Candidates". Text includes name of engraver "W.H. Key". Also, as DeWitt notes, there is die break line from upper left of the head running to the right edge at 4 o'clock. This appears only on the front. Silver luster off much of the raised portrait but overall most remains. Exc. as made. Second retains about 65% silvering with 35% brass showing. Front reads "Geo. B. Mc Clellan For President 1864". Tarnish mark bottom front. Fine. Third has his name and image on front while reverse shows gun boat "Monitor" with "1862" date below. Some tiny shallow hairlines on his cheek and uniform and 3/16" shallow scratch on right background. Fine.
