Item Description
Lot of three, ranging from 11.5x14.5" to 22x28". Two feature The Shadow and are reproductions of 1930s advertising poster for "The Shadow" pulp magazine. These were printed by comic artist and illustrator Jim Steranko, who produced many cover paintings for reprintings of The Shadow novels in the 1970s. These posters were printed around the time he was running his club, The Shadow Secret Society. Both are printed on glossy paper. Smaller poster features close-up portrait and has archival tape repair to .75" tear at bottom left corner. Larger poster features near full body illustration of The Shadow, w/his shadow standing beside. Both posters had small print runs and are now rolled. Fine to Exc. Comes w/stiff paper "The Green Hornet Strikes" print featuring Steranko's art. ©1990 The Green Hornet. Steranko has signed at lower right in pencil, w/handwritten "113/1500" edition number. Print is rolled and has all over faint age spotting on top half of back, which extends onto front top margin. Fine/VF.
