Item Description
27x41" one-sheet poster for the original release of the 1944 Universal Pictures Sherlock Holmes film, the ninth of 17 films starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock and Nigel Bruce as Doctor Watson. Great poster art has portraits of Rathbone and Bruce at upper left looking down at Evelyn Ankers and rest of cast at bottom (including horror actor Rondo Hatton). Poster has been folded as issued w/moderate wear to fold crease intersections, including some splits and small holes. Poster is free of pin holes but margins show wear w/scattered brown paper/cello tape repairs/reinforcements on back to tears and along fold lines. Top left and center as well as bottom center have small pieces of brown paper tape. VG.
