Item Description
13-5/8x21-3/8" poster for original Belgian release of the 1956 American adaptation of the 1954 Japanese film "Gojira." Original content featuring American actor Raymond Burr was shot and inserted into the film, w/English dubbing added, creating a slightly different film that director Ishiro Honda had intended. Poster features stylized image of Godzilla breathing fire down upon city populace as they flee the destruction caused by the giant monster. Poster has two horizontal folds and single vertical fold at center. Bottom margin has some residue from date sheet and top marquee remains blank but has some spots of moisture staining and rippling from glue used to once adhere date paste-over, of which only remnants remain. Top also has some staple holes. VG/Fine overall, but main image area remains clean and poster retains vivid color.
