Item Description
See previous item #795 for the background on the awarding of this medal. On this example the bronze colored ring joining the hanger to the moveable loop which in turn is joined to the top edge of the medal has been replaced with a brass ring and there is a very tiny bit of scuffing of the metal around the hole at the bottom of the hanger. The rest of the piece remains essentially Mint as issued. Same obverse and reverse as the previous item but the side edge of this is stamped in capital letters "Samuel Roads, Mus. C. 8th. Reg." On the inscription "Mus" stands for musician and the letter "C" stands for his military company, part of the 8th regiment. VF. Unique.
