Item Description
14.25x22.5" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for page 3 of "Master Comics" #116, published by Fawcett Publications, June 1950. Page features eight panels, showing Freddy Freeman walking w/professor in museum, wondering why two men are dressed as members of King Midas' court outside. Smoke suddenly appears in room containing contested crown and Freddy shouts "Captain Marvel," transforming into Captain Marvel Jr. A man sneaks in during the confusion and steals the crown. Captain Marvel Jr. appears in five panels. Top margin has "Fawcett Publication - Master Comics" inkstamp w/handwritten issue number. Bottom margin has some editorial notations that have been partially scribbled out. Some corner tip wear w/moisture staining along left margin and at lower left corner, not affecting art. Artboard is Fine overall, while art remains clean and Exc. Could be matted and framed for a nice display. Richard Calusdian Collection.
