Item Description
Lot of three approx. 5.5x18.75" thin artboards w/India ink original art in by "Toots And Casper" creator Jimmy Murphy. Art is for three consecutive days,  Sept. 1-3, 1930 and features three or four panels each. Art features relative Mabel visiting and talking about how she's changed her lazy beau Danny into working in order to prove himself to her mother. Mabel leaves and Toots and Casper see her off at the station w/Danny. Last strip shows Toots sad that Mabel has left and Casper dealing w/"Good-Fellows Club" matters, taking a phone call after their stereotypical African-American maid calls him over, saying "You Am Wanted On The Phone, Suh!" Sept. 1 artboard has two word balloons w/paste-over having new hand-lettered dialogue text. Murphy has signed last panel of each and King Features Syndicate copyright strips appear in either first or second panels. Backs have handwritten titles in blue pencil. Staple holes at upper left corners w/single pin hole at top center of first and last artboard. Fine/VF overall w/art remaining clean and Exc. Scarce to obtain three consecutive strips like this.
