Item Description
See previous item #1486 for introduction/information on our offering of these rare dolls. This is 12.5" tall version from 1936 and has stuffed cloth body, felt ears and oilcloth eyes. Mickey Mouse dolls from this year had hands w/three fingers together and an extended thumb and also featured composition shoes. This version has blue polka dot one-piece cotton clown outfit w/ruffled muslin collar w/matching blue trim and ruffled cuffs. 2" section of the collar has separated from top of outfit. Formed felt hat is missing. 1936 version did not have pom poms on front of outfit, but did have them on shoes as seen here (one shows wear and is half present). Original die-cut paper Knickerbocker Mickey tag/folder is attached to one arm. This shows obvious wear as it is missing majority of one side w/other side showing scattered creases. Tag is just Fair, but rare. The doll itself and outfit have lt. aging w/white portion of Mickey's face being evenly tanned w/.25" spot on snout having repair, which stands out. One oilcloth eye accent shows moderate edge wear w/other having been reattached at some point. As typical, doll is missing rubber tail and whiskers. Doll stands well for display. VG overall. Extremely rare and first we've offered in our 51 years.
