Item Description
22x28.25" thin card board tour blank advertising a show featuring "Great Atlantic Recording Stars The Cardinals", "Jump King Of The Tenor Sax... Jaguar Record 'Blow Willie Blow' Little Walkin' Willie", R> Blues His Harmonica And Guitar Jimmy Reed", "Little Jr. Lewis", "Edyie James" and "Queen Of The Shakes Nema". Images of all six acts accent this pleasing design. Below "The Cardinals" is their biggest hit "The Door Is Still Open" peaking at #7 on the top ten R&B charts in 1955. At center of "Jimmy Reed" is his first major hit "You Don't Have To Go" peaking at #5 and starting a decade long run of hits for the blues artist who was a major influence on Elvis Presley, Hank Williams and The Rolling Stones. One horizontal and vertical fold professionally stabilized on reverse. Chips, small separations and losses along top border most notably at top left corner. A less than 1/2x1" hole just right of center in the green field that barely affects small text. Also moderate age toning, staple holes and pin holes along edges. Good. A true survivor and the first time this design has been offered in commerce. A rare artifact of the early days of rock 'n roll.
