Item Description
8.5x11" textured paper handbill for May 12, 1967 concert that took place at the Marigold Ballroom in Fresno, CA that featured The Grateful Dead and The Roadrunners. In 1967, The Grateful Dead released their debut self-titled album, "Grateful Dead." Although Stanley Mouse created the album cover, Rick Griffin created promotional flyers for the band. Griffin's handbill included the saying, "In The Land Of The Dark, The Ship Of The Sun, Is Driven By The Grateful Dead," which was supposed to originally be on the album cover, but was changed by the band. Fresno promoter Rocky's Mag, used Griffin's handbill as a show flyer by adding the date and venue for this concert. This is yellow color variety. Bottom margin has thin streak of aging along margin and lower right corner has obvious foxing w/.25" tip off. Fine/VF. Rare.
