Item Description
Original printing 8.5x11" paper handbill for Aug. 19-20, 1966 concerts at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA featuring The Grateful Dead and Sopwith Camel. Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, this was their first poster/handbill design for The Grateful Dead and as such, the spelling error of "Greatful" is present on this handbill. Great design includes Frankenstein portrait at center. Bottom margin has "The Bindweed Press" notation. Mouse has signed his name in black ink and drawn a running mouse sketch to the right of Frankenstein image and below "Camel" name. Exc. Scarce as signed.
