Auction 189 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 1010 in auction 189
Item Description
34mm (1-5/8") with original aged chocolate patina on the brass surfaces. Albert lists only 3 varieties from 1789 with large "GW" initials in the center oval with slogan above "Long Live The President." This variety is Washington 11C with the widest spacing between the initials "G" and "W," compared to the other two varieties. Albert assigns it a high rarity value of 5 (6-10 known). Surfaces have minor microscopic pitting, mostly on the reverse. Lower field has extremely shallow and smooth small indentation. Moderate wear, but slogan easily readable. Overall a fine example with its original aged patina intact.
