Item Description
2.5" tall listed in DeWitt-Sullivan as 1868-43A. The stickpin hanger is an eagle perched on a rock accented by two stars. The shield below has blue accent surrounding the star clusters at top while the stripes of the shield are red enamel paint alternating with brass stripes. At center is an extremely clean cardboard photo. The eagle hanger has less than 1/16" hole where the lower edge of the wing meets the back. This is exceedingly minor and the piece is o/w Exc. One of the few badges of this era to encompass color accents. Rare.
