Item Description
6.5x12-3/8x13.5 tall (to top of raised metal carrying handle) all wooden case countertop machine has wood-rimmed, glass-covered gauge w/numerals and "'Atlantic' Elektrisier-Automat" name w/additional German text, most likely instructions. Machine operates similar to strength testers, but in this case to see how much electrical shock participant can withstand. Front of machine also has brass plate w/German maker's name/location. Two plated metal knobs on front; one to hold on to and one to control the amount of current. Most of original interior mechanism is still in place, however machine has been updated w/new wiring, a pair modern resistors, etc. and now operates by using 10 AA batteries. Works well delivers a strong shock. Interior lock has been replaced at some point, key no longer turns but front panel fits into slot on top of case so lock is not needed for display or use. Paper gauge display has moderate scattered spotting and wooden framed encircling it has .5" crack. Case shows scattered wear from use. Coin slot has two small holes underneath it, indicating another small plaque that is now missing. Fine overall.
