Item Description
Jean Lussier (1891-1971) was a Canadian-American daredevil, best known for going over Niagara Falls on July 4, 1928. Unlike the daredevils who had gone over the Falls previously in wooden barrels, Lussier designed and built a 6' rubber ball lined w/oxygen tubes to go over Niagara Falls. Lussier capitalized on his fame by moving to Niagara Falls and selling pieces of the ball to tourists. Offered here is 3-3/8x5-3/8" real photo postcard showing Lussier in patriotic athletic garb, posing below image of his ball going over the Falls. Lussier has signed in blue ink, adding "July - 4/28" date of his historic feat. Back has double-stamped 1938 date (when Lussier retired from the daredevil business) but is o/w unused. Card has some corner tip wear but is still VF overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
