Item Description
3x5" index name card has typed name of Nobel Laureate James D. Watson, who received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962 for his work in deducing the double helix structure of DNA. Card bears typed date of Feb. 26, 1988 and Watson has signed in black ink above his typed name. 8.5x11" typed letter on "University Of California" letterhead is dated March 4, 1969 and has been signed in blue ink by Luis W. Alvarez, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1968. Alvarez was part of the Manhattan Project, working on the atomic bomb. Alvarez thanks letter writer and mentions Nobel Laureates. Letter has been folded as mailed and shows moderate moisture rippling as once mounted in scrapbook. Two small tears along top margin w/.25" split at left edge of top fold line. VG/Fine overall. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA COAs.
