Item Description
3x5.75x3.25" tall handmade and hand-painted tin and steel prototype w/addition of painted tin figure from Marx's prototype department's supply of acquired toys for study. Figure is most likely German made and has been attached to platform to create a realistic depiction of "Farm Work Bench Saw And Grindwheel" as hand-painted on top surface of bench. Toy is marked/dated "Erie - 4-9-37" on bottom as Erie, PA was the location of one of Marx's main plants. Wooden drive wheel attached to one side meant for belt that would operate toy. Flint holder attached to arms, one arm is detached from pin but arms remain firmly in place. Scattered aging/wear w/flaking on paint to top surface of bench. VG/Fine overall. Toy was never produced.
