Item Description
8.5x11" thick artboard has smaller 6-5/8x8.75" piece of thin artboard glued to larger board. Smaller board features highly detailed pen and ink original art showing Marx's "Gang Busters Official Target" w/gun and rubber-tipped darts in foreground. One dart is shown knocking over one of the "Public Enemy" image hinged drop back targets. Art is marked w/small Marx text and 1940 copyright of Phillips H. Lord Inc., "Gang Busters" radio program creator. This graphic tin litho toy was produced by Marx in 1940. Art differs from the produced toy only in the placement of the four different "Public Enemy" images. Original art is from Marx factory archives and was used for promotional purposes. Artboard has some scattered glue staining along margins, w/1/8x.5" spot of staining at lower left. Art is o/w clean and VF. All Marx original art of this type is rare and desirable.
