Item Description
8.25x11.5x1.5" deep illustrated cardboard box has lid graphics showing five titles with a burst graphic in the middle. Published by Gilberton. c. 1940s. Rare Series B box used for gift set advertised in some issues of Classic Comics (Classics Illustrated). Comics are CGC graded original editions of #6 (A Tale of Two Cities) CGC 5.0 VG/Fine, #7 (Robin Hood) CGC 8.0 VF, #8 (Arabian Nights) CGC 7.5 VF-, #9 cover stock variant (Les Miserables) CGC 6.5 Fine+, and #10 (Robinson Crusoe) CGC 5.5 Fine-. #9 has off-white to white pages and other issues have cream to off-white pages. The box lid is in VG+/Fine condition, w/lt. wear/aging. Lt. color fade on one end panel. Tight corners. Box bottom has some tan soiling/staining and one split corner. Good.
