Item Description
Prototype sign w/concept art and fully realized art for Lifebuoy Soap bin display. 1950s. 11-3/8x15.5" sheet of vellum has grease pencil concept original art for display promoting Lifebuoy Soap "'Make Believe' Badge" premiums. Art includes boy wearing and pointing to six-pointed star on chest w/additional badge designs at right including "Police Chief, Sheriff" and "Jet Pilot." Package of "Lifebuoy Health Soap" at bottom center w/unused price circle at lower right. Bottom margin has design elements that indicate this concept was for a bin topper. Horizontal fold at center w/vertical crease. Some lt. scattered handling wear. Fine overall. 11-7/8x15.25" Crescent artboard has fully realized mixed media original art for bin display, shows similar layout as seen on concept art; this fully realized example showing boy wearing "Police Chief" badge w/"Jet Pilot, Police Chief, Fire Chief" and "Ranch Boss" badges seen at right. Hand-lettered text noted "Free 12 Colorful Make-Believe Badges In This Package" w/arrow pointing to package containing three boxes of Lifebuoy Soap w/paper band around them having additional "Free With 3 Bars Of Lifebuoy Soap - 12 Make-Believe Badges" text w/badge images. Some lt. dust soiling and spot of trace staining above "Fire Chief" badge, but not overly distracting. Fine/VF. Unique pair.
