Item Description
12x23.75" vellum sheet has colorful mixed media original art for proposed premium sign advertising "Palmolive Floating Toys." This 1950s prototype sign includes image of children looking down on assortment of six premiums at lower left w/image of three-bar package of Palmolive soap w/Duck toy wrapped around exterior. Hand-lettered text notes "6 Different Floating Toys In The Series! Duck - Fish - Whale - Seal - Penguin - Crocodile" (all of which are shown at left). Fish, Penguin and Whale are original art paste-overs. Additional text notes "One Given Free With Every Package Of.." beside soap image. Unused pricing circle at lower right. Back has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Sheet shows moderate handling wear w/creases and some margin tears. slight loss of yellow paint to some text. VG/Fine overall. 5x15" thin artboard w/original art for store shelf talker, featuring slightly less detailed art of boy and girl w/these premiums floating in the water. Sign features much the same text as larger version and also has unused price circle at right. Back has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Vertical fold at center w/pinhole at top center. Fine overall. Comes w/three hand-cut mock-up blanks for these soap holding premiums as well. Neat concept. Unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
