Item Description
10x14.75" prototype cereal box flat has 7.5x11.5" back panel area that features mixed media all original art for 1963 Post cereals "Jet Fighters Cut-Outs" premium. Back panel art consists of two sections; one a facsimile frame to mount cut-out jet onto via slots cut into frame, and actual image of jet that was to be cut out and applied to painted bkg. Hand-lettered "U.S. Air Force" name on side of jet w/additional "Make This 3-D Jet Plane Picture - It's Easy! It's Fun!" hand-lettered text. Bottom center of jet image area has 1.25" tear, 1.75" tear at right margin w/small tear by jet's nose, none affecting actual art. Scattered aging/handling wear. VG/Fine. Comes w/6x8.25" prototype "frame" w/all original art and separate 5x6" cut out jet (that differs from one on prototype box). Some lt. scattered wear but VF overall. Comes w/13x19.25" Post "Grape-Nut Flakes" cereal box flat featuring the final version of this 1963 premium, w/back panel featuring "McDonnell F-101 Voodoo" jet. Left margin has very slight trim and flat shows some minor scattered edge wear. Flat is folded along center scored line, and is o/w an unused file copy. Exc. Unique lot that shows the working development of a premium concept. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
