Item Description
22x27-7/8" poster for week-long celebration commemorating the closing of iconic San Francisco venue Fillmore West that took place June 30 to July 4, 1971. June 30 concert featured Boz Scaggs, Cold Blood, Flamin' Groovies and Stoneground. July 1 concert featured It's A Beautiful Day, Elvin Bishop Group, Grootna and Lamb. July 2 concert featured The Grateful Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Rowan Brothers. July 3 concert featured Quicksilver Messenger Service, Hot Tuna and Yogi Phlegm. Final show (July 4) at Fillmore West featured Santana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tower of Power and San Francisco Music Jam. Poster design by David Singer included photo collage at center w/cat dancing on sleeping dog and two cat's eyes in bkg. Poster shows obvious wear w/pinholes/pulls at corners and scattered margin wear including small tears and surface paper lifts, w/moderate surface paper lifts to top margin edge. Scattered handling creases. VG. Despite issues, still a scarce poster for a historic event in the San Francisco music scene.
