Item Description
27x40" for the original release of the 1914 European Feature Film Corporation film that was filmed in Germany and released in the US one year later. Great stone lithography by Morgan Litho. Co. of New York features action image of man and woman laying atop rushing steam locomotive. Little is known about this early foreign film. Originally folded, poster has been linen-mounted and has had extensive restoration, including complete margin repaint, filling in 1.5" corner at upper left, 2.25" corner at lower left as well as a number of pin holes and holes ranging from 1/8" to .25" along margins; some at edge of image area. Restoration to margin tears w/2" area at bottom center that is lifting off the linen. Restoration to woman's face and hand extended downward, man's coat, 3x6" area on back of train car, 2x3" area at center left and "New York" portion of European Feature Film Corporation circle at lower left. Title has scattered restoration/touch-ups and upper eighth of poster has extensive restoration. Margins have been overpainted. VG.
