Item Description
7" tall by 6" dia. tin litho canister for candies produced by the Oriole Candy Company, founded in 1914 by Harry Brown and J.C. Haley of Tacoma, WA. The company's name was later changed to Brown and Haley in 1919. Tin features colorful image of oriole bird under name that bears a more than passing resemblance to the text used by the Baltimore Orioles MLB team. Back of tin has blank rectangle under image/name for pricing information/label. Tin has loss to silver flashing on lid w/more moderate luster loss on underside. Sides of tin have scattered paint nicks/scratches w/a few small areas of bare metal showing. Fine/VF overall, but still an attractive tin. Rare.
