Item Description
Lot of 19 pieces in total. Shows the development of a Gold cereal premium from concept to production. In this case, a plastic free-wheeling car (cereal box insert) with top portion designed as a cut-out on the cereal box. A few of the sheets are dated 1969, the year the Fimation Hardy Boys cartoon series aired on ABC. Two of these 8.5x11 vellum sheets have pencil images and text showing full car design as well as other specs. A third sheet is "Data" filled out in ink. A lined paper sheet has additional specs in ink. There are four 3x4" first generation snap shots of the car from various angles. One of these includes image of the car w/"Top" piece in place. Comes with original art hand-cut top piece that include passenger images at windows. Art is pen & ink and colored pencil. Other Hardy Boys pieces include stats and a "Blank" hand-cut top. While this premium ultimately was not made, the same concept was produced in 1969 for an "Archie's Car." Lot also includes a Post Alpha Bits box flat for that premium as well as the 3" long plastic car. Box flat has the cut-out car top and garage pieces removed. Rest of lot is overall Exc. Very interesting and unique. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
