Item Description
Large 23x34.75" porcelain over steel sign w/.5" flanged edge. Produced for the German market for outdoor display. 1920s, w/German text inside large "S" that translates to "Singer Sewing Machines." Image intertwined w/"S" design features woman dressed in period outfit using highly detailed Singer machine of the era. Singer trademark/logo at bottom. Scattered wear to porcelain at corners where mounted outside storefront w/expected oxidation, but not overly distracting. Center left has 2.25" area of flaking to porcelain and there is a 1x1.25" area w/missing porcelain by woman's hands; center has slightly convex dent. Fine overall. See early rare Singer button #571.
