Item Description
"Fearless Fly" was an animated segment of "The Milton The Monster Show," that aired on ABC 1965-1968. "Fearless Fly" starred an insect super-hero similar to Hanna-Barbera's Atom Ant, who gained his superpowers by putting on a pair of super high-powered glasses. Lot contains 8.25x13" sheet of vellum w/mixed media original art for Fearless Fly Collegeville Halloween mask, featuring extensive handwritten production notations in pencil, including character name, dimensions and note about design incorporating structural strength. Aged piece of masking tape at upper left and folded as center. Fine overall. Art comes w/solid 6-3/8x8-3/8" high relief heavy cast metal injection mold for Fearless Fly mask. Glasses have character name in marker w/"2-66" date. Raised "USA" text at chin. Some lt. scattered aging but still VF overall. Lot also includes 10-3/8x13.25" acetate production animation cel featuring 1.5x3" hand-painted, full body image of Fearless Fly that was screen-used and then sent to Collegeville for reference use. Exc. Very little Fearless Fly merchandise was made and art from the show is very rare. A truly unique lot for the fans/collectors of this cult cartoon.
