Item Description
"The Milton The Monster Show" aired on ABC 1965-1968, featuring Milton the Monster, a Frankenstein-looking monster w/a flat-topped, seemingly hollow head which emitted various quantities of white steam or smoke based on his mood or situation. Offered here is 9x11-5/8" trimmed sheet of vellum w/mixed media original art for Milton the Monster Collegeville Halloween mask, featuring handwritten production notations in pencil, including character name and dimensions. Sheet comes w/smaller vellum sheet featuring mask's mouth art. This was once affixed w/tape which has loosened w/age, leaving some aged tape residue on main sheet, which shows scattered handling wear. VG/Fine. 6.75x10.5" high relief thin Vacuform plastic Halloween mask has been completely hand-painted and is marked "Original" in black marker on inside, Collegeville's way of identifying it as a unique prototype. Some lt. scattered paint wear at edges of hat and a couple tiny scattered edge cracks. Fine/VF overall. Comes w/5.75x10-1/8" high relief heavy cast metal injection mold for Milton the Monster mask, w/"Milton Monster" name written in black marker on large chin, along w/"2-66" date, indicating it was produced along w/the "Fearless Fly" mask (see item #1245) from same series. Very little Milton the Monster merchandise was made, making this a truly unique lot for the fans/collectors of this cult cartoon.
