Item Description
Pair of thin artboards w/pen and ink original art by Dan Barry (who created art for the "Flash Gordon" Sunday page from 1967-1990). 8.25x16-1/8" artboard has six panels for March 19, showing Ming the Merciless overseeing Dr. Bizara as he brings the Annihilator to life, testing his ability by firing lasers at him. Annihilator is seen punching rhinoceros-like animal in last panel. 7.75x16" artboard also has six panels, showing Flash Gordon and Dale Arden in Arboria, w/Prince Brain gifting Flash a horse. Last panel shows Dr. Bizara announcing to Ming that the Annihilator is ready. First artboard has KFS copyright strip in third panel, second artboard has strip in fifth panel. Lightly aged strips of tape at left/right margins, left has "Gordon - King" handwritten label w/date. Printer marks tape at corners. Each has staple at upper left corner, w/oxidation. Art remains clean and Exc.
