Item Description
13.75x17" Bainbridge Board features original art by Sheldon "Shelly" Moldoff, one of Bob Kane's main "ghost artists." He is also known for co-creating the heroine Hawkgirl and the villainess Poison Ivy. Pen and ink w/watercolor original art recreating the first page of "Action Comics" #268 (Sept. 1960), w/"Superman's Battle With Hercules!" title w/art appearing almost identical as how it appeared when artist Wayne Boring created it for publication. Art shows Superman locked in battle w/Hercules, w/Superman's word balloon reading "G-Great Scott! Hercules Is Backed By A Team Of The Mightiest Olympus Gods! Am I... I Outmatched!!??" six ghostly gods appear behind the two titans as they slug it out. 1990s. Moldoff has signed at lower left adding "(Rec)" recreation note. NM.
