Item Description
30x40.25" poster features artwork by Joseph Christian Leyendecker of two World War I era Marines, one standing w/rifle, the other playing bugle. The USMC symbol is on pedestal between them. Left/right margins have 16 real photo images of various Marine activities, including Marine Band, baseball, barracks, football, bowling, scenes aboard battleships, conducting search in Mexico, etc. 1917. Poster has been linen-mounted on stiff linen and has had bottom right margin corner replaced/repainted w/some restoration to top left margin and edge filling at top center and along extreme right margin. Scattered moderate aging to margins. VG/Fine. Scarce.
