Item Description
Box w/illustrated lid contains 9" long mostly tin litho toy made in Japan by Horikawa, early 1960s. Box is complete w/cardboard inserts and lid has creasing to main panel w/moderate edge/corner tip wear. Evenly aged w/some creasing to side panels of lid, box is Fine overall. This is "Friendship 7" version w/only two windows and fully dimensional tin litho astronaut w/detailed control panel behind him can be viewed through plastic windows. Toy has working friction mechanism and as the capsule travels forward, the astronaut rotates 360° as if weightless in space. Also produces engine noise. Sparks from the rocket engine as designed. Some lt. surface wear to windows, o/w toy is glossy and Exc. Great design.
