Item Description
53.75" overall tall display. 45" tall x 27" wide large figure of Reddy Kilowatt. 1950s. Constructed out of substantial quality .75" thick painted wood and has papier-maché hands, feet and head. Back of 11" dia. head has 5.5"x6.5" cut opening (which allows access to wiring on the interior of head) w/insert as made. This insert has a 1.75" opening to let heat escape. Two 2.5" tall, .25" thick "lightning bolt antennas" protrude from top of Reddy's head. He also has a 200 Watt Sylvania lightbulb for nose, which can be easily changed if it burns out. Figure stands on 8.75" tall by 22" dia. revolving base. Base has 2" strip of thin aluminum, which basically covers the edge where revolving platform meets the base. Base has 2" to 3" tall "Reddy Kilowatt" name. Rear of base has 7x13" opening, allowing access to rheostat, which allows his nose to be adjusted from soft glow to brilliant light. Electric motor inside base has revolving cam that continuously rotates the platform/figure left/right over approximately a 3" to 4" distance. Original power cord is still affixed to the back of the body of figure. White areas have a few small black rub marks, but almost all are on the reverse surfaces and of a very minor nature. Small bit of red paint off the base of his right "antenna." Overall condition is VF w/just minor traces of age and use, but overall displaying bright and clean.
