Item Description
25.75" tall molded fiberglass figure of "Robertson's" Golliwog on "Golly It's Good!" base. Open area under arm is for displaying Robertston's marmalade/jam product jar. This open area allows for viewing interior of display, which has lightbulb, that when lighted, would cause marmalade or jam to glow. Used to promote famous English food company that used this Golliwog mascot from 1910 until retiring the character in 2002. This display dates to the 1950s and comes w/period Robertson's Greengage Jam jar w/label that shows obvious wear/aging, just comes along. Wiring/light system is English w/English plug, but comes w/US conversion plug to allow for lighted display. Holes in top of Golliwog's head as made to let heat escape. Scattered dust soiling and aging w/some crazing to white portion of shirt. Bottom of base shows some wear as well but overall, displays VF.
