Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard window box contains 4" tall vinyl body wind-up figure w/hard plastic feet. Made in Japan by Marusan and marketed by Tomy, ©1966 Tsuburaya Productions. Figure depicts the kaiju Goro (who bore a more than passing resemblance to King Kong) from Tsuburaya Productions' "Ultra Q" series (which predates the "Ultraman" series). Box shows moderate wear w/moisture staining, but remains Fine for display. Figure features a more typical cartoon monkey design than the King Kong-esque design seen in the show, but bears Marusan marking. Underside of foot has foil label w/"Ultra Q" name in Japanese as well as images of fellow kaiju Todora, Garamon and Gomess (matching copyright image on box). Original key stapled to inner flap. Walking action works well. Small spot on top of head but o/w Exc. Scarce as boxed.
