Item Description
8x13.5x5" deep box w/illustrated lid contains 11" tall tin litho Ultra Monster Jirass from "Ultraman" w/painted vinyl moving jaw, vinyl spines and attached hard plastic remote control. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Bullmark, ©Toho Co. Ltd. 1960s. This is photo box design, featuring photo of Japanese child playing w/Jirass on lid; side panels shows additional images of toy and the four other Bullmark battery toys in this series - Baragon (see item #1469), Godzilla (see item #1468) Gigan and fellow Ultra Monster Arstron. Box is complete w/cardboard insert and shows obvious wear w/3" tear to upper left corner of lid, 1.25x2" dark moisture stain and .5" puncture at center of lid's main panel. Box bottom has corner split and scattered moisture staining. VG/Fine overall. Toy is modified Godzilla toy, w/different paint scheme and added vinyl collar, similar to how the actual "Ultraman" monster suit was produced from a Godzilla suit. Complete w/Tsuburaya Ultraman logo foil label on tail and Bullmark logos on undersides of feet. All functions work, including walking action, arms move, roar produced, lighted mouth opens and closes, smoke emits from mouth. Remote's battery box is clean w/just a few small melt marks. Fine/VF. Tiny paint rub to top of Jirass's head and on stomach, o/w bright clean and VF/Exc. Rare Japanese battery toy.
