Item Description
Large 2-1/8" with W&H maker's name on the curl. Issued c. 1899 to promote Cleveland department store and using word play changing "Remember The Maine" to "Remember The May". In reflected light, a small 1/8" square area on front of Dewey's hair has tiny ripple marks due to excess heat during lamination of the celluloid. Button is Exc. and displays Mint. A rare local issue.
