Item Description
7.5x9.5" sheet of vellum w/lead pencil original art has been cut out in the rough shape of the mask, bottom center having upside down "U" shape removed for some reason. Art depicts Collegeville's mask design for Courageous Cat as seen in the "Courageous Cat And Minute Mouse" cartoon series based off Bob Kane's Batman and Robin spoof. Left ear has .75" sliver off tip and sheet has some scattered aging/dust soiling w/crease at lower right. Fine overall. This costume was only sold one year, and was shown in Collegeville's 1962 catalog. This mask was black and white w/green ears/eyes and red tongue as seen on the cartoon. This mask was later re-purposed by Collegeville as part of their glow-in-the-dark mask line. Art comes w/8.25x9.25" high relief thin Vacuform plastic Halloween mask for Black Cat, featuring same design but in different colors. This example features reflective paint accents on yellow glow-in-the-dark areas. Three small lead pencil circle between eyes indicating additional reflective spots. Inside of mask has repeated "Glow" notation from the mask series and is also marked "Original" in black marker, Collegeville's way of identifying it as a unique prototype, given the reflective spots and pencil art. Exc. The reflective dots did not appear on the final production masks. Any Courageous Cat original art is hard to come by, making this is a must for
