Item Description
10.5x14.5" w/four single-sided pages (not including covers). Saalfield Pub. Co. #177. ©1940 Superman, Inc. One of two varieties published by Saalfield (see following item), this variety differs in that pages are printed on stiff paper rather than cardboard, w/pieces designed to be cut out, not perforated for punching out. This variety features same contents including six separate Superman images in various action scenes but in some different page configurations. Of note, Superman archnemesis Lex Luthor is depicted as he first appeared in the comics, w/a full head of red hair. Front cover has "Permanent File Copy - Return Promptly To Library Desk" inkstamp. Book is complete and unused. Moderate spine wear w/some pinch creases and 1" and .5x1" areas of scattered surface paper lifts from sticker at bottom corners. Cover is VG. Pages have some lt. corner foxing but are o/w bright, clean and Exc. As rare as the other variety of this book is, this variety is even rarer, and this is only the third example we've offered in our 52 years.
