Item Description
17x22" glossy sign for Burry's Howdy Doody Cookies premium, a jigsaw puzzle of the United States of America. Likely issued during 1952 election. Premium consisted of 40 pieces that made up map of 48 states, each die-cut piece featuring illustration of Howdy or Howdy's friends in various scenes. Pieces were issued one per box of Burry's Howdy Doody Cookies. All state puzzle pieces are shown on sign, which notes backs of each piece has information about each state. Folded into quarters as issued, sign shows moderate handling wear, w/.5" V-shaped chip out of center left margin w/staple pull beside it. Pin holes at corners w/small pull at upper right. Each corner has brown backing tape. Sign has a few scattered pin holes in addition to ones at corners. Small tears along fold lines and tiny split at fold crease intersection. VG/Fine. Rare and first we've offered in our 52 years.
