Item Description
This rare 1942 ring was offered by General Mills' Kix cereal as a bounce-back offer w/Lone Ranger military rings in April 1942. General Mills recorded only 85 requests. Following that offer, the ring was also offered very briefly by Kellogg's, this time labeled as a 'gold ore' ring. Brass ring w/adjustable bands, sides of ring have an area w/small irregular marks, representing the surface of a meteor. Ring top has a metal rim w/clear, slightly domed celluloid cover over small rock pebbles. This example has only the tiniest traces of luster loss from the brass compartment edge and from around the thin narrow edge openings for finger. Vast majority of the luster loss is detectable only under magnification. Ring retains high luster and displays Exc./NM. We've only offered four examples of this rare ring in our 52 years. A beautiful example of a rare ring. Our last example (in 2012) in similar condition sold for $2,587.
