Item Description
5x17x4" deep box w/illustrated lid contains tin litho four prop Clipper style passenger airplane w/painted tin motor covers. Made in Japan by Linemar, 1950s. Box shows obvious aging and wear w/corner split to lid, two 1" corner splits and concave main lid panel. Box bottom has 2" corner split. VG. Plane is 14.5" long w/ 16-5/8" wingspan. Plane is marked w/1950s Pan American logos on fuselage and tail. Friction powered, two motors move freely but three of four tires have flat spots, causing plane to move intermittently. Although all four interior prop shafts move, only one prop turns due to wear to small rubber discs that cause props to rotate. Plane's body shows lt. scattered wear where two pieces are assembled but is o/w bright, glossy and VF.
